Messi: We Must Improve

Despite picking up a 2-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in their opening Group F World Cup clash at the Maracana in Rio De Janeiro on Sunday, skipper Lionel Messi wants Argentina to improve.

The Barcelona superstar scored Argentina’s second of the game with a trademark run and finish after a Sead Kolasinac own goal had given them a third minute goal.

Messi then revealed how important it was to make a good start to the tournament and pick up three points in their opening game, but admitted that they will need to improve their performance and put all the nerves aside.

"It's important that we started off on the right foot with the three points, but we do have things we must improve,” the Argentina captain stated.

"It's not easy with all the anxiety and the nerves, but the important thing is the result.”

"We had a great second half. We had the ball much more, created several opportunities and that's what we have to continue to do,” he added.
