Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane seemingly urged superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to get some rest after Los Blancos' 3-0 win over Villarreal on Wednesday night.
Reports suggest that the Portuguese had become jaded this past week due to the amount of football he has played, and although his French manager would like to give his star player a break, the 31-year-old always wants to be on the pitch.
"With Cristiano, it is important to rest, but he always wants to play and do his best," Zidane said, according to Marca.
"Sometimes, for me, like today when he leaves the field, it is difficult. Let's see when he recovers.
"Cristiano is working very well for the team and he does more than just score goals.
"Defensively, today, he was spectacular, the whole team was. We played a team that is very good in transition and they had no chance today."
The Portugal captain had played every minute of Real's 34 league games this campaign before he limped off the pitch moments before the final whistle against Villarreal.
Ronaldo has scored 47 goals in 44 matches for Los Blancos in all competitions this season.
