One of FC Barcelona's presidential candidates has outlined his plans to turn Lionel Messi into the Catalan club's very own Michael Jordan.
Messi's future with the Spanish giants still appears uncertain following his push to leave the club in the most recent transfer window. Former president Josep Maria Bartomeu refused to allow the six-time Ballon d'Or winner to get his desired move, and especially not on a free transfer.
With Barca's presidential elections coming up in January 2021, candidate Jordi Farre has taken a similar stance on the 33-year-old's future, and believes the Argentine should have a legacy comparable to NBA superstar Jordan does in basketball.
"Doubting what Messi has given us is even in bad taste," he told Esport3.
