Germany international Toni Kroos has acknowledged that there is one aspect of Cristiano Ronaldo's game that Real Madrid will miss dearly.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner shocked the world when he announced he would be leaving Los Blancos for Serie A champions Juventus in a deal worth €112 million (R1.73 billion ).
The Portuguese's former teammate Kroos has now admitted that Real will struggle to replace Ronaldo's goals, but still feels, despite that, the club will be strong enough to compete on all fronts.
"His 50 goals a season are not easy to replace," the Germany midfielder told Kicker.
"Cristiano has been an essential building block in our team over the past few years and a decisive factor in our success.
"But we will be hard to beat again this year."
The 33-year-old Portugal captain, who scored a total of 450 goals for Los Blancos in nine years, made 44 appearances for the Spanish giants last season, scoring 44 times along the way.
