Thierry Henry has reacted to the drama surrounding Lionel Messi and Mauricio Pochettino following the Paris Saint-Germain manager's decision to substitute the ex-Barcelona player on Sunday.
The Argentine made his home debut for the French giants in their 2-1 win over Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1, but arguably the biggest talking point regarding his involvement came when he was taken off in the 76th minute.
As he made his way off the field, the 34-year-old seemed to refuse to shake Pochettino's hand before shrugging at him in apparent confusion. The manager, though, played the incident down.
Speaking about the controversial moment, former France international Henry admitted he was not surprised by his former Blaugrana teammate's reaction.
"No, not really. It does not surprise me," he said, according to the Daily Mirror.
"Maybe he didn't want to go out. We don't know what they're saying to each other. Let's not start the controversy. He surely wanted to stay on the pitch so he could score.
"But it will come, it will come quietly. It takes time to adapt, even for the best player in the world."
