Following on from the last update, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski remains in top spot, having struck 35 times in 2019. The Poland international has been in red-hot form since the football season resumed, and has extended his lead over Lionel Messi to three goals.

The Argentine, who has struggled with injuries this season, has found the back of the net on 33 occasions over the course of the year, and has two months to bear down on his Bayern Munich rival.

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Mbappe, who turns 21 in December, has climbed to third place following his incredible hat-trick in his team's 5-0 UEFA Champions League win over Percy Tau's Club Brugge on Tuesday night.

The Frenchman's treble saw Manchester City's Sergio Aguero drop a position – although the Argentina striker has scored the same amount of goals as Mbappe has, he has also played three games more than the 2018 Golden Boy.

In at fifth is Aguero's teammate Raheem Sterling, who appears to be getting better and better with every season. The England international has begun the 2019/20 campaign brilliantly, continuing his excellent form in recent months. The 24-year-old has now scored 25 goals in 36 appearances in this calendar year.
