The 35-year-old netted a brace in Juventus' 2-0 victory over Cagliari on Saturday, which had put him level on goals in Serie A with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, the AC Milan striker responded with a brace himself on Sunday to go two goals clear of Ronaldo in the Capocannoniere race.
Ibrahimovic is one of three stars with 10 league goals in 2020/21 already, the others being Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Erling Haaland, who netted a quadruple in Borussia Dortmund's 5-2 win over Hertha Berlin on the weekend.
Robert Lewandowski, though, stayed at the top of the ranking despite failing to find the back of the net in Bayern Munich's 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen.
Out of the top 10, Ronaldo has played the least games, having netted his eight goals in just five appearances for Juventus.
