Messi netted once in his side’s 2-0 win over Girona, while Mbappe also found the back of the net in Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-1 thumping of Rennes. The Argentine still leads the ranking with 19 strikes – one more than Mbappe.
Three players sit in joint-third place, namely Fabio Quagliarella, who scored in his 11th successive Serie A game for Sampdoria, replacing Ronaldo at the top of the Italian scoring charts, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Lille’s Nicolas Pepe.
Ronaldo, who scored the winning penalty against Lazio on Sunday, is now one of four players with 15 goals in 2018/19.
Both Harry Kane, who is currently injured, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang complete the ranking with 14 strikes.
