Since the last update, Messi has added three goals to his name, as has Paris Saint-Germain's 20-year-old sensation Mbappe.
Messi has now registered 24 goals in 23 club matches across all competitions in this calendar year, while Mbappe has found the back of the net on 20 occasions in as many games.
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has climbed to third spot, having scored 19 times so far in 2019. The Frenchman appears to have reinvented himself at Los Blancos of late, proving he is far from finished at the highest level.
Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is fourth with his 16 strikes in 19 matches, ahead of Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata on 14 goals.
Tied with the Colombian forward is Sevilla's Wissam Ben Yedder, who is followed by a few other high-profile goalscorers.
The Bianconeri's Ronaldo is quite some way off the top 10, having scored just 10 times since the turn of the year.
