The 33-year-old joined Juventus in a club-record deal worth €100 million (R1.55 billion), with widespread reports suggesting he now earns an annual salary of €30 million (R465 million) after deductions.

In doing so, Ronaldo becomes the Bianconeri's top earner, pocketing about as much as the previous five highest earners at the club combined.

The Portugal captain replaced Gonzalo Higuain at the top of the Juventus wage bill, with the Argentine receiving €7.5 million (R116 million) a year, as reported by Gazetta dello Sport.

His countryman Paulo Dybala follows in third place with a reported annual salary of €7 million (R109 million).

Douglas Costa, with €6 million (R93 million), and Miralem Pjanic, with €5.5 million (R85 million), complete the top five, while Emre Can, who joined the Serie A champions on a free deal from Liverpool, is believed to pocket €5 million (R78 million) a season in Italy.
