Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic, who turned 19 years old on Monday, is already lighting up the football world, as pointed out by Bundesliga.com.
The American, who joined Dortmund's youth academy when he was 16, made his first team debut on 30 January 2016 at the age of 17.
Pulisic became the youngest ever goalscorer in United States history when he netted a late goal in a 4-0 friendly win over Bolivia in May 2016, and has already scored seven goals in 18 appearances for his country.
At club level, the 19-year-old has featured 60 times for BVB, scoring nine goals and assisting 14 further strikes before his 19th birthday.
When comparing his statistics – from before he turned 19 this week – to Messi and Ronaldo’s at the same age, Pulisic, somewhat surprisingly, is ahead of the two superstars in all key indicators.
Ronaldo had made 53 club appearances, scoring six goals, before turning 19, while Messi sat on 34 club games and nine goals at the same age.
On the international stage, the Argentine had represented his country nine times and found the back of the net twice at senior level before his 19th birthday, while Ronaldo had made two appearances for Portugal, scoring twice.
