The 11 Best Attacking Trios In Europe So Far

Liverpool's attacking trio once again wrote the headlines this week, but how do they compare to FC Barcelona's forward line including Lionel Messi, and where do Cristiano Ronaldo and his Real Madrid partners sit?

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored all of Liverpool's five goals in the Reds' 5-0 drubbing of FC Porto on Wednesday, taking the trio's overall tally to 63 goals in all competitions this season.

However, Jurgen Klopp's forward line is not the most dangerous in Europe's top five leagues, with Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe sitting on 71 strikes.

Manchester City's trio of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne complete the top three after scoring 60 goals for Pep Guardiola's side so far this season.

Barcelona were famous for their "MSN" forward line but it was broken up when Neymar left the club. The Blaugrana's new best attacking trio – in terms of goal returns – is composed of Messi, Luis Suarez and Paulinho, who have scored 54 goals between them in this campaign.

Further down the ranking is Real's most dangerous attacking trio, but it's not the famous "BBC" combination, with Marco Asensio having replaced Karim Benzema alongside Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. The Los Blancos forward line, with Asensio, has scored 42 goals between them in 2017/18 so far.

Editor are you mad? Paulinho, Messi and Suarez are not a trio. Barça plays with a duo of Messi and Suarez at the moment but Dembele could join them as a trio it's just that he's been suffering with injuries but the kid win show up eventually and when he eventually shows up all here will break loose!
