The 32-year-old is reportedly angered that Real Madrid seem unwilling to offer him a new and improved contract despite him claiming his fifth Golden Ball and leading the club to another UEFA Champions League title last season.
Ronaldo signed his latest extension in November 2016 and his current deal expires in 2021. However, Neymar and Lionel Messi have since both overtaken his salary after their latest deals were confirmed.
Marca believe Ronaldo pockets €21 million (R313 million) after deductions per year, while Neymar receives €36 million (R537 million) annually at Paris Saint-Germain.
At the top of the ranking reigns Messi, who became the new top earner in football after signing his record-breaking €46 million (R686 million) deal in December 2017.
Chinese imports Oscar, with €24 million (R358 million) at Shanghai SIPG, and Ezequiel Lavezzi, with €23 million (R343 million) at Hebei China Fortune, also reportedly earn more than the Portuguese.
