According to Vanquis' Ultimate Sports Rich List, the FC Barcelona captain is paid £68.3 million (R1.4 billion) before tax a year by the Spanish club, making him the highest-paid player in the world.
It is not Ronaldo, but rather Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar who is second on the list, with the Brazilian reportedly raking in £52.3 million (R1.08 billion) annually before deductions.
Juventus' superstar forward follows the ex-Santos winger in third place with his reported yearly salary of £51.9 million (R1.07 billion), while Neymar's colleague Kylian Mbappe is fourth.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is reportedly paid £20.7 million (R428 million) yearly in Paris, which is said to be the same amount his international colleague Paul Pogba, who represents Manchester United in the Premier League, earns.
