Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has responded to Antoine Griezmann's recent claim that he is on the same level as FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Father & Sons Who Both Played For Their Countries
The Atletico Madrid star recently said that he feels he should be perceived in the same light as Messi and Ronaldo, despite being snubbed by FIFA for the 2018 Best Men's Player of the Year prize.
Asked what he thought of Griezmann's claim, Ramos responded by reminding the Frenchman of the legendary players who did not win any individual accolades throughout their careers.
"Ignorance makes you very bold," he said, according to Sky Sports.
"When I hear this kid talk, I remember players like (Francesco) Totti, Raul, (Gianluigi) Buffon, (Iker) Casillas, (Paolo) Maldini, Xavi or (Andres) Iniesta who have won everything but not a Ballon d'Or.
"Everyone is free to express their opinion, but I think he should take the advice of (Diego) Simeone, (Diego) Godin or Koke, who represent the values that serve them (Atletico Madrid) well.
"I have always said that he is a great player and I wish him the best."
