Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has explained why Cristiano Ronaldo remains on free-kick duty, despite the Portuguese's poor conversion rate.
According to Spanish publication AS, Ronaldo is statistically the worst with set-pieces since joining the Serie A last season after failing to score from 24 direct free-kicks.
During his time with Manchester United and Real Madrid, Ronaldo become quite level from set-piece but he is yet to deliver for the Old Lady.
Despite his struggles, Sarri insists Ronaldo and Miralem Pjanic will remain first choice for the rest of the season.
“Cristiano and Miralem decide over free kicks, it’s down to them. I’ve asked for a few things from Pjanic, without changing his nature, and he did well to make himself available.
“He’s expressing himself at very high levels.”
Sarri's charges make the trip to Lecce on Saturday afternoon as they look to cement top spot in Serie A.
