FC Barcelona legend Samuel Eto'o has called for Neymar, who has often been criticised of late, to work as hard as his strike partners at Paris Saint-Germain during matches.
The Brazilian has endured a tough year since leaving Barca at the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign, despite scoring regularly for PSG in France's Ligue 1.
Following his team's loss to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League last week, Neymar was accused of having a lacklustre attitude to the match, something he was also accused of at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Eto'o, a three-time Champions League winner, feels Neymar should be working as hard as Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe do.
"We want to see Neymar running after defenders to help his team," the Cameroonian told Canal+.
"Cavani does it, but it's not worthwhile only one player doing it. Mbappe also does it, but the key figure is Neymar. If he does it, the whole team will turn around and run."
Eto'o was also asked if he believes PSG can challenge at the highest level.
"PSG must play as a team," he reaffirmed.
"If everyone defends, they will have every chance to win. France won the World Cup because they defended well."
Neymar has scored four goals and assisted a further three strikes in seven matches for Les Parisiens so far this season.
