Eto'o, according to IB Times, was speaking at the official presentation of the 2020/21 LaLiga, and provided an update on how he felt after hearing the latest updates on Messi.
The Cameroon legend had also previously spoken about the potential of Messi leaving Barca, where he said that "If Messi decides to leave, we'll have to change the name of the club".
The African superstar spent time with the Argentine during his spell at the Catalan giants, and was delighted that Messi had decided to make a U-turn on his decision to leave.
"Messi is like my son. He has stayed and so I'm happy. But the heart of this team needs more Barcelona-style players, players who are tiki-taka, not box to box."
