Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario was not entirely pleased with Neymar's performances at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, admitting that he expected more from the world's most expensive player.
The Selecao man was heavily criticised for some of his performances in Russia, where he never really hit great form for his country.
Neymar was also slammed by many for going to ground too easily at times, but there were concerns over his fitness after he missed the last two months of the 2017/18 campaign due to injury.
Ronaldo has now admitted that he anticipated more from the Paris Saint-Germain man at the tournament.
"We all expected more from him because he's the star of the team," he told Sport TV.
"I don't know if it was because of the operation he had on his foot or another problem, but I saw him as quite limited on the pitch."
The Selecao legend also discussed Neymar's tendency to go down easily at the competition.
"I spoke with him about this a while ago," he added.
"Five years ago, I asked him why he did it and he told me it was so the person fouling him couldn't do more damage."
Neymar scored twice and assisted two goals in five matches at the 2018 World Cup.
