Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario has reacted to Neymar surpassing his goals tally for the Selecao.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward scored a hat-trick in his country’s 4-2 win over Peru in their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier this week, taking his tally for Brazil to 64 strikes.
In doing so, Neymar surpassed the legendary Ronaldo Nazario, who struck on 62 occasions for the Selecao, and even dedicated his first goal celebration in the match to the former No. 9.
The ex-Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker has sent Neymar a message on Instagram following his achievement, telling the 28-year-old to continue making history.
"All my respect for you, Neymar!" the 44-year-old former striker wrote, according to The World Game.
"He plays a lot, gives assists, plays, dribbles and thrashes. The sky is the limit. Fly, kid!
"What a beautiful story you are writing. A complete and increasingly mature player. Handling the pressure off the pitch is sometimes more challenging than the ball itself.
"Now tell me: where did we come from, where did we arrive... who is going to tell us what is impossible? Keep trusting your instincts because the talent is yours and nobody can take it from you.
"You have a lot of records to overcome and marks to leave. Proud to see a Brazilian at the top!"
