Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario has selected his greatest XI in the history of the game, but controversially snubbed his namesake Cristiano Ronaldo.

The retired striker is widely regarded as one of the best to have graced pitches all around the world. Despite a career hamstrung by injuries, Ronaldo Nazario lifted two FIFA World Cups with Brazil, as well as multiple trophies at club level with the likes of FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
He retired from professional football in 2011 after suffering from hypothyroidism, a condition that slows down metabolism and causes weight gain. It was discovered that he had it in 2007, and his body finally gave in four years later.
He also became the majority owner of LaLiga side Real Valladolid after buying 51% of the club's shares in September 2018.
He recently named his dream XI of football's greatest players, as revealed by Marca, and it includes just two of his countryman, namely Cafu and Pele.
In addition, he also selected legendary Argentina stars Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, but opted against including his namesake Cristiano Ronaldo.
