Following FC Barcelona's exit from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Liverpool this week, Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario has made an interesting remark about superstar Lionel Messi.
Having beat the Reds 3-0 at the Camp Nou last week, many believed there was no way for Jurgen Klopp's side to overturn the deficit in the second leg of their semi-final tie at Anfield.
Liverpool, however, blew the footballing world away with an emphatic 4-0 win on Tuesday, sending the Catalan club out of the competition in the most dramatic fashion possible.
Speaking about Barca's performance in the return fixture, Ronaldo suggested that the blame should be shared among everyone in the squad, including Messi.
"Barcelona has a great team," he told Marca.
"They have the best player in the world, Messi, and the other day I heard that the loss was the fault of Valverde, Coutinho but never Messi's fault.
"Instead, when they win, it's the Barcelona of Messi that wins. It's a tremendous injustice for all of the players and the staff.
"Liverpool's intensity wasn't a surprise for Barcelona, but they were missing a little luck.
"The first leg was a great game from Barcelona with an extraordinary performance by Messi, but in the second leg Liverpool ate up Barcelona with intensity and desire."
