Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has made a prediction regarding Lionel Messi, whom he helped mentor at Barcelona, for next season.
It has been a difficult debut campaign in France for the 2021 Copa America winner, despite his 24 goal contributions across all competitions since joining the French giants.
The 34-year-old has seemingly endured adjustment issues at Paris Saint-Germain after spending the majority of his life in Barcelona, having joined the Blaugrana as a young boy before eventually making his first appearance for the club in 2004.
10 more players confirmed to be leaving their clubs at the end of the season:
His form in Paris has led many to believe he could seek an early departure from the Ligue 1 club in the coming transfer window, but Ronaldinho believes his ex-teammate will be "even better" in the 2022/23 season.
"His difficulties are normal," the Selecao icon told TeleFoot.
"To change club after so long, it is not easy. Next season, with more adaptation, he will be even better."
Barca president Joan Laporta recently caused quite a stir after he admitted he would be more than happy for Messi to return to Barca, remarks that came just hours after the Argentine's dad shared a similar sentiment.
Messi, however, has a contract in Ligue 1 until 2023 and would likely find leaving PSG difficult, especially considering reports in Spain suggest that his current teammate Kylian Mbappe is closing in on a move to Real Madrid.
