Brazil superstar Neymar reportedly had to pay money from his own pocket to leave FC Barcelona at the beginning of the season. It has now been revealed just how much he had to pay.
The 25-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain for a world record transfer fee in August 2017 following four successful years at Barca.
At the time of his transfer, it was reported Neymar had to pay €40 million (R602 million) for breaking his contract with the Spanish giants.
According to El Confidential, however, Neymar's deal with the Blaugrana included a clause that the player would have to pay the Catalan club €100 million (R1.5 billion) if he were to leave before the expiry of his contract.
It has now been reported that that was the actual fee the player paid to release himself from his deal with Barca.
The report claimed that this information was detailed by Brazilian authorities in November 2017.
Neymar has scored 20 goals and assisted 14 strikes in just 22 matches since joining Les Parisiens.
