Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will reportedly not try to sign FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi for this reason.
Messi has been heavily linked with the Citizens in recent months as his current deal with the Catalan club expires at the end of the season.
Although he is expected to sign a new deal with the Blaugrana, speculation over the player's future has continued.
According to Diario Gol, however, Guardiola will not attempt to lure the Argentine to England, despite considering the 30-year-old to be the best player in the world.
It has been claimed the Spaniard does not want to upset his former club's fans by bringing the forward to City.
Guardiola spent four successful years as Barca manager between 2008 to 2012, winning 14 trophies along the way.
Messi has been the star man for the Catalans since his senior debut in 2004, scoring 523 goals and assisting a further 234 strikes in 602 matches.
