Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly sent a transfer message to his former club Manchester United.
According to the Daily Star, the Portuguese has made it clear to the Red Devils that he will never return to Old Trafford to play football.
The 32-year-old has often been linked with a move back to United, with reports claiming the English side were willing to spend £150 million (R2.4 billion) to get their former player back.
Ronaldo’s career has reached new heights since he joined Los Blancos in 2009, although he does still have a special place in his heart for United.
The Portugal captain recently spoke about his appreciation for his former club, and even admitted that their fans treated him with more respect than Real supporters do.
Ronaldo has made history many times with the Spanish giants and holds several records with the team, including being the club's highest goalscorer ever.
James Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata and Gareth Bale have all also been linked with United, but it now seems clear that a Ronaldo return is off the cards.
The four-time Ballon d'Or winner scored 118 goals in 291 games for United, while he has found the back of the net 406 times in 394 matches for Real so far.
