Reports: Real Madrid Will Let Cristiano Ronaldo Leave On One Condition
News broke this week that Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to join Serie A giants Juventus in this transfer window, but it is believed that Real Madrid will only allow the Portugal international to leave on one condition.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez will only accept the Bianconeri's €100 million (R1.5 billion) offer for the 33-year-old if the player publicly asks to leave the club.
It has been suggested that the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League winners know Ronaldo wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, but will not accept Juventus' offer unless the player explains to one and all why he wants to go.
Perez does not want any backlash coming his way should the deal go through, and by asking the player to make the first move, it puts less pressure on the president and his board.
The tension between the president and Ronaldo has been growing in recent months, with the player believing the club failed to protect him during his court case with the Spanish tax authorities.
The former Manchester United winger also asked for a wage increase last month, which the Madrid club seemingly said no to as he signed a new contract not so long ago.
