Reports: Real Up Bid To £200m For Ronaldo Replacement

Real Madrid, who are believed to still be in the market for a replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo, have upped their offer to £200 million for their preferred target, according to the reports.

Los Blancos have not signed any "Galactico" since James Rodriguez in 2014 after the FIFA World Cup, but many expected them to splash the cash for a Ronaldo successor.

However, the market has been tricky for the Spanish giants and some reports suggest that new coach Julen Lopetegui could go into the new season without a replacement for the Portuguese attacker.

According to English publication Sunday Express, Real have not given up on Eden Hazard, however, and have, in fact, upped their offer for the playmaker from £150 million (R2.73 billion) to £200 million (R3.64 billion).

The report comes after new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri insisted the superstar will not be leaving Stamford Bridge any time soon, with the English transfer window already closed.

"Hazard is with us, I have spoken with him three or four times and he never said anything about the market, he is very happy to stay here," the Italian said, as quoted by the Daily Star.

"It (Hazard's departure) is impossible, here the market is closed so we cannot change important players now, so it's impossible."

Hazard came off the bench in Chelsea's 3-0 opening day win over Huddersfield Town, while Real Madrid will begin the new campaign with a UEFA Super Cup clash against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
