The initial plan was apparently for Los Blancos to sign Neymar in 2019 as something of a replacement for their 33-year-old superstar and club record goalscorer. However, the Selecao forward has reportedly signalled that he now wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming transfer window.
According to Marca, Real's bosses have been told that Neymar would be happy to play with Ronaldo, and welcomes the challenge to feature alongside the current Ballon d'Or holder.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, has approved of the Brazilian's potential arrival in Madrid and would apparently not have a problem sharing his superstar status at the club with him. It is believed the Portugal captains feels the former FC Barcelona man would improve the current squad.
A club representative reportedly met with Neymar during his recovery in Brazil, and the club has apparently been told they would need to fork out a whopping €260 million (R3.4 billion) transfer fee in order for PSG to sell their world-record signing.
Neymar made 30 appearances for the French giants this season, scoring 28 goals and assisting another 19 strikes. However, he has missed the past two months of football due to an injury, but returned to the training pitch this week.
