The Red Devils had a relatively quiet transfer window ahead of the 2018/19 season, and did not make any signings in January.
However, this could change in the next window, with United said to be keen on splashing the cash on Benfica duo Joao Felix and Ruben Dias, according to Portuguese outlet Record.
Felix is on United's radar after bursting on to the scene in Liga NOS this season. The 19-year-old only joined Benfica's first team at the beginning of 2018/19, but is experiencing a phenomenal breakout campaign.
He has scored nine goals and assisted another five strikes in the league, with seven of his goals and four of his assists coming in 2019, including an important goal in Benfica's 2-1 win at Porto on Saturday, which saw his club surpass their title rivals in the table.
The forward has been labelled the best Portuguese talent since Ronaldo by many as a result, and is being chased by some of Europe's elite clubs, such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Juventus.

Felix reportedly has a £90 million (R1.69 billion) release clause in his contract, while Dias, a central defender, is said to have one of £65 million (R1.21 billion). He has featured in all but one of Benfica's league games this season, and is also reportedly being chased by Europe's biggest clubs, including Juventus, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
United will want him to help strengthen their defence, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Red Devils can complete the double swoop for two of Benfica's upcoming stars.
