Juventus' bid to become one of world football's global superpowers could reach the next level with the club reportedly looking to sign the "new, younger Cristiano Ronaldo".
The Bianconeri have solidified their status as Serie A's premier club in recent seasons with a number of big-name signings, which culminated in the arrival of Ronaldo from Real Madrid last season.
According to club shareholders’ president Paolo Aicardi, signing the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was part of a long-term plan, and the next phase of that plan – to identify and sign the next global superstar – is now beginning to take shape.

"Ronaldo was the end point of a plan that started eight years ago, when (Mirko) Vucinic was our star signing," Aicardi said, as reported by AS.
"From him to Cristiano there were various steps: (Carlos) Tevez, (Sami) Khedira… these signings show that Juventus are bringing in the biggest names in football.
"When Cristiano, the number one, arrived, it was made clear that now any player can choose Juventus ahead of Real Madrid, Manchester United or Barca.
"Today everything is possible and the signing of (Matthijs) De Ligt is proof of that. Our next idea is to sign the new Cristiano Ronaldo, but a younger version."
While Aicardi gave no indication of who the club might be looking at, the Spanish publication believes players such as Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe or Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Haaland might fit the bill.
