With Lionel Messi said to have clashed with furious FC Barcelona supporters at the Liverpool airport following his team's UEFA Champions League heartbreak, what he said in response to their angry chants has now reportedly been revealed.
It was reported on Wednesday that Messi was met by angry and frustrated Blaugrana supporters after Barca's 4-0 loss to the Reds on Tuesday night.
According to Mundo Deportivo, a group of Barcelona fans confronted Messi while he was at a security checkpoint at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, voicing their disbelief at what had happened at Anfield.
Messi apparently had to be dragged away to avoid any serious altercations, but a new report has emerged stating his response to the fans' concerns.
As per Mundo Deportivo, the 31-year-old responded to their abuse by saying: "What's your problem? What did I do? What did I do wrong?"
Messi inspired his team to a 3-0 win over the Reds at the Camp Nou last week, which took his goal tally to 12 strikes in this season's Champions League campaign, but was unable to replicate that form in the second leg.
The Catalan club also blew a three-goal lead in this tournament in the previous campaign, against Roma.
