With many expecting five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi to resume international duty this year, FC Barcelona reportedly do not want to him to return to the Argentina fold just yet.
With an international break approaching, fans are eagerly beginning to anticipate the 31-year-old forward's return to duty for his national team
However, according Mundo Albiceleste, Argentina supporters might have to wait a little while longer to see Messi don the famous blue and white stripes again due to an injury concern.
Argentina will take on Venezuela in Spain on 23 March, and then travel to play against Morocco just three days later.
It has been claimed that Albiceleste manager Lionel Scaloni wanted Messi to only take part in their match in Spain, but Barca are believed to be pushing for their captain to not play in the fixture at all.
Messi has been carrying a knock for the past few weeks, although, with the Copa America coming at the end of the campaign, Argentina will want to integrate their record scorer back into the team as soon as possible.
