Reports: Cristiano Ronaldo Wants More Money Than Lionel Messi & Neymar
It is believed that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is demanding more money than what Lionel Messi and Neymar are being paid at their respective clubs.
According to Marca, the Portuguese attacker feels he deserves a better salary at Los Blancos, although he is not particularly unhappy at the club.
The 32-year-old reportedly feels that, because he is a candidate for this year's FIFA The Best Men's Player award, he should be earning the same or more than what his rivals Messi and Neymar do at FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spanish publication estimates that Messi and Neymar earn about €25 million (R399 million) annually, although recent information leaks suggested that the Brazilian is on €36.8 million (R578 million) a year.
It has been said that Ronaldo does not expect an extension on his current contract, which expires in 2021, as he is aware his time at Real might be up in four years' time – when he will be 36 years old.
The report suggested that Real are not yet prepared to give the Portuguese a bigger deal as they want to focus on renewing other players' contracts, especially that of club captain Sergio Ramos.
The Portugal captain has scored five goals in six games across all competitions for the Spanish giants so far this season.
