Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly win the Ballon d'Or on Thursday – an award he will apparently be handed at the top of the Eiffel Tower in France.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Portuguese will receive his fifth Ballon d'Or at the top of one of the world's most famous tourist destinations in France – the Eiffel Tower.
The report also claimed that former France international footballer David Ginola will hand the award to the 32-year-old.
These unconfirmed reports are, of course, difficult to regard as fact seeing as it was said a few months ago that FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi would win the prize.
However, if Ronaldo does win the award, he will draw level with his Argentine rival on five Ballons d'Or each.
Many believe the Los Blancos man is the favourite for the prize as he won the La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League with Real earlier this year.
If Messi or Ronaldo do lift the award, it will be the 10th year in a row that either one of these two superstars have been crowned the winner.
