According to reports across Europe, the Red Devils have reached an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam tactician Ten Hag, whose expected arrival is likely to be a cause for concern for a number of players at the Premier League club.
It has been claimed the Dutchman was particularly determined to ensure he will have control over incoming and outgoing transfers, which could leave a number of United's first-team stars feeling vulnerable about their futures.
According to Manchester Evening News, Ronaldo was not approached by United's board for advice over Ten Hag after he warned the club not to appoint Antonio Conte when the Italian tactician became available in October last year.

The Italian was tipped to replace the sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer permanently, but the English giants were said to be slightly put off by reservations Ronaldo held for Conte, who has since gone on to improve standards at Tottenham Hotspur.
As a result of this, it appears the board have not taken the Portugal captain's opinions and feelings on Ten Hag into consideration at all, with football director John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher "overseeing comprehensive background checks" on several candidates.
