Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi reportedly warned Xavi Hernandez not to sign one of his teammates for next season.

The pair were recently spotted having dinner Spain during the international, with Messi catching up with his old Barcelona teammate.

Reports in Spain claim that PSG starlet Xavi Simons is a potential target for the Catalan giants when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Simons came through the famous La Masia academy but left the Catalans in 2019 to join the French giants, where he has only made seven appearances for the first team.

Catalan newspaper El Nacional claim Barcelona are still keen re-signing the youngster despite the way he left, but it seems Xavi has been advised to do otherwise.

The report says that Xavi reached out to Messi to discuss the possibility of re-signing the 18-year-old, but the PSG superstar told his the manager that youngster is still with some of the same issues had in Spain.
