No other player has scored more goals in Italy since Cristiano Ronaldo's €100 million mega-transfer in 2018, but Juventus have now been urged to "get rid of" their superstar.
Winds of change are blowing around the Bianconeri in what seems to be a campaign of regrets.
After winning nine successive Serie A titles, the defending champions have fallen to 12 points behind leaders Inter Milan this season.
In addition, Juve were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Porto and eliminated in the Coppa Italia semi-finals by Inter, with only a Supercoppa Italiana trophy to show for in 2020/21.
As a consequence, coach Andrea Pirlo's future at the club is in doubt, with former Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri linked with a return.
According to Le Repubblica and as cited by Football Italia, Allegri has already advised Juve owner Andrea Agnelli to sell Ronaldo because he is "blocking the growth of the team and the club".
Ronaldo joined the Italian giants because he wanted to win a sixth UEFA Champions League with them, but what was initially labelled by some as "the deal of the century" has somewhat not had the expected success for both parties.
Despite the 36-year-old scoring regularly for Juve – he is on 32 goals in 37 appearances in this campaign – he has often been blamed for the club's failures and many reports seem to suggest an end to his stint in Italy is near.
It is understood that Ronaldo himself is keen to call time on his spell in Serie A, with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain linked with his services.
