Italian giants Juventus reportedly want to lure one of Cristiano Ronaldo's former Real Madrid teammates to Serie A next season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian top flight leaders are monitoring James Rodriguez, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich.
The Colombian is in the second year of a two-year loan spell with the Bavarians, with reports in Germany suggesting that Bayern will not activate their purchase option on the midfielder.
Bayern have a non-obligatory €40 million (R643 million) fee included in Rodriguez's loan deal, but a return to Real at the end of the season now seems likely.
While new head coach Santiago Solari and president Florentino Perez are reportedly keen to give the Colombian a new chance at the Santiago Bernabeu, Juventus are understood to be keen to reunite the attacking midfielder with Ronaldo.
James is another client of Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, who is believed to have a good relationship with the Bianconeri.
The Colombian is currently out injured with a knee ligament problem, but has struggled to find his best form under new coach Niko Kovac, scoring only three goals and assisting another two strikes in 11 appearances for Bayern so far this season.
