Cristiano Ronaldo is constantly linked with a move away from Real Madrid and reportedly wanted a transfer after comments by club president Florentino Perez upset him.
Spanish publication Sport claims Perez angered Ronaldo in January when he questioned the attacker's ability to take players on.
This is in reference to a comment published by El Confidential, which claimed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez told Ronaldo: "Cristiano, you don't beat players like before, you never go past anyone. You have to beat your man."
Ronaldo was allegedly so upset with Perez's comments that he contacted his agent to sound out a possible move.
According to Sport: "Ronaldo, upon hearing the words, felt deceived and decided to go to his agent, Jorge Mendes, to ask for an exit from the club because he could not understand the need for the Madrid president's comments.
"Nothing sat well with Ronaldo and it is understood that Sir Alex Fergusos trip to Madrid in March was with the objective of convincing the 30-year-old to return to Manchester United."
As we all know, Ronaldo stayed with Los Blancos and recently became the club's all-time top goalscorer in the Spanish league.
However, Sport claim the Portuguese superstar hasn't forgotten Perez's comment and might leave after this season.
