With Neymar's future at Paris Saint-Germain still not sorted out, FC Barcelona have reportedly made contact with the Brazilian superstar.
Spanish publication RAC1, as cited by SPORT, have reported that the Catalan giants made the first contact with the Brazilian about a return next season.
Barcelona have identified the PSG superstar as their main transfer target over Borussia Dortmund rising star Erling Haaland, who is reportedly wanted by a number of clubs.
The report continues that the 29-year-old is 'desperate' to return to the Camp Nou and will not make any financial demands due to Barcelona's financial troubles.
Neymar has just one year left on his current deal with the defending French champions but talks have been on-going about a new deal.
Should the two parties not agree to a new deal, PSG could look to sell the Brazilian in the next transfer window rather than lose him for free next year.
Despite the recent report, Neymar recently admitted that he is happy in the French capital and an extension is almost settled.
"My extension? Everything is almost settled," he told RMC Sport.
"You know, we're in discussions with PSG… We're not in a hurry. I feel comfortable.
"I feel really happy here."
