A Real Madrid player has claimed Los Blancos would not have wanted Lionel Messi if he was available in this transfer window following his transfer request at FC Barcelona.
Messi Names Three Losses That Made Him Want To Leave
The Argentine told the Catalan giants that he wanted out two weeks ago, but has since reversed his stance after refusing to take his boyhood club to court.
Messi was linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, though there might have been far more teams interested in his signature.
Asked whether the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners would have moved for the 33-year-old, Germany international Toni Kroos was clear in his view.
"I don't think so (they would have wanted him)," he told Real France.
"I don't think he's willing to come. But the feeling is probably mutual, since he does not want to come to Madrid.
"That's why I think it couldn’t happen."
Messi has since returned to training at Barcelona, but is currently working alone as per COVID-19 protocol until he is cleared to reunite with his teammates
