Following Real Madrid's UEFA Super Cup loss to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, a Los Blancos star has insisted that while Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be replaced, the team must forget about him.
Ronaldo left Los Blancos for Juventus after nine years earlier in the transfer window, and some have suggested that his absence has already been felt.
Real were beaten 4-2 in the Super Cup in Estonia on Wednesday, but Brazilian midfielder Casemiro believes the defeat was not down to Ronaldo not being there.
"We can't cover that up (the gap left by Ronaldo)," he said, according to Sport.
"Cristiano has shown here that he's the best in the world, but that's in the past now, we can't keep thinking about him.
"We need to talk about those who are in the squad, the ones who stayed. We want to be a stronger, more solid team, but Cristiano is in the past."
