A certain Real Madrid star, who has not been afraid to side with other Los Blancos legends over Cristiano Ronaldo in the past, has now explained what he thinks are the differences between the Portuguese forward and FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
The two superstars have often been compared to one another over the years, something Los Blancos right-back Dani Carvajal does not necessarily think is the right thing to do.
Despite the many years he played alongside Ronaldo, the Spaniard acknowledges Messi as the far more creative player, although he was quick to add that whatever his former colleague lacked in that department, he more than made up for in sheer desire.
"I think Messi and Cristiano are hardly comparable," Carvajal told El Chiringuito.
"They are two of the best players in history, but they are very different. Messi is a player who generates more football, he has better vision for a pass.
"Messi is a player who always has the ball stuck to his feet and he always finds space.
"Cristiano is a player who focuses on getting into the area and scoring. He is an annihilator. They are different, but at the same time so good."
