After seemingly making quite a bold claim about Lionel Messi ahead of the upcoming El Clasico with FC Barcelona, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has clarified his comments.
After a recent interview, the young winger came under fire on social media for reportedly saying that Messi "doesn’t scare anyone", as quoted by Esporte Interativo.
However, the 18-year-old has since taken to Twitter to explain that he did not mean that Messi does not frighten anyone, but rather that he and his teammates are not afraid of going up against the Argentine.
Vinicius' tweet translates to: "Messi is amazing, he does things that few players are able to do, but he doesn't scare us. We're ready for anything that comes. We have the best players in the world as well."
The Brazilian will take part in his second Clasico on Wednesday night, when Real host Barca in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final.
