Ramos Makes Big Messi Admission

Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos Makes Big Lionel Messi Admission

By Kurt Buckerfield - Mar 29, 2018 10:58 AM @KurtLaduma

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who has gone up against FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi many times in his career, recently made a big admission about the Argentine.

Messi Slammed For Leaving Argentina Vs Spain Early

Spain hosted the Albiceleste for an international friendly on Tuesday night, but Messi was among several absentees as his country slumped to a humiliating 6-1 defeat.

However, La Furia Roja skipper Ramos reserved some high praise for his LaLiga rival after the match despite his failure to feature in the clash, and claimed that Argentina are a lot weaker without him on the field.

"Leo is an amazing player, a unique player, and the Argentina team is worse without him," he said, according to Sport.

"Argentina, with Messi, are more powerful."

Ramos also explained how delighted he was with Spain's big win over Argentina.

"It's always nice to win against a national team with some many players of great quality," he added.

"Today was one of those games where virtually everything went well. We're on an ideal path heading into the World Cup."

Ronaldinho Reveals Truth About Relationship With Messi

While Ramos is set to be in action against Las Palmas in a LaLiga fixture on Saturday, Messi is a doubt for Barca's clash against Sevilla with a thigh strain.

Do you think the score would have been different had Messi played? Let us know in the comments section below.

Putting all of that aside, they were confident enough to not play key players against Spain, which to me seems like the quiet before the storm. Anyway you are right it's just my opinion.

I'm not sure what the hype was about, but the media will always make a noise about a big team. Argentina is 3rd out of 4 teams in South America. They were in the Copa Del Rey final, they were in the world cup final, they were holding the number 1 spot for a while, that's why you think Argentina struggled to qualify. On top of them is Brazil, and Uruguay, all good teams. So just to be clear they struggle was hyped up more than it really was.

Everyone knows that but I have to hand to Ramos for admitting what is well known regardless of the fierce rivalry.

The reason for my comment is that Argentina we're missing a lot more key players than Spain. For them it was a true friendly match.

To be honest, I fear for the teams that will face Argentina in the world cup. I foresee Germany Vs Argentina again in the final. Spain played well but I really don't see them making it to the final.
