Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been confirmed ready to play in the return leg of the Spanish Supercopa tomorrow.
Ronaldo had undergone tests at the club’s training complex to determine the extent of his muscle injury from the first leg, but Carlo Ancelotti now confirmed the Portuguese is fit to play.
The 29-year-old was substituted at half time in his team’s 1-1 draw against the La Liga champions on Tuesday night in the first leg of the Spanish Supercup.
"Cristiano is ready for tomorrow's game against Atletico," Ancelotti confirmed at a pre-match press conference.
"Ronaldo has trained well. He had a normal session and is available for tomorrow. He could start."
The current holder of the Ballon D’Or and UEFA Player of the Year 2014 candidate was on top form against Sevilla in the UEFA Supercup last week, where it had appeared that the fitness issues which plagued him towards the end of last season were over.
However, his fitness worries returned towards the end of the first half on Tuesday night but now it has been confirmed that he will be fit for the clash at the Vicente Calderon for the return leg.
Real Madrid take on Atletico Madrid on Friday evening at 22:30.
