Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti has said that Cristiano Ronaldo is not in bad shape, despite picking up an injury in last night’s Spanish Supercopa clash.
Ronaldo was replaced by James Rodriguez at half time against Atletico Madrid after picking up an apparent back injury.
"He felt something and was uncomfortable. We'll evaluate it tomorrow," Ancelotti told the media after the match.
"Apparently, it was not serious."
Ronaldo will undergo further tests today to evaluate the magnitude of his injury and Ancelotti insists the Rojiblancos have now the advantage to claim the Copa on Friday.
"Atletico do have an advantage for the second leg since now we have to score at the Vicente Calderon," the Italian added.
"If we play like we did tonight we will win the Super Cup. The team played well. We didn't have a huge amount of pace in the first half but we improved in the second half.
"We controlled the game pressing up front. Our midfielders were really good.
"We made a mistake on a dead-ball situation. We did not cover the front post well and Iker had no chance to do anything in that situation because he had a player in front of him."
Real Madrid will travel across town to the Vicente Calderon stadium for the second leg of the Spanish Supercup on Friday at 22:30.
