The Portuguese showed great composure when scoring Los Blancos' only goal in their 3-1 defeat to Juventus, which ultimately sent them into the next round after winning the tie 4-3 on aggregate.
Match referee Michael Oliver blew his whistle for a Mehdi Benatia foul on Lucas Vazquez inside the box, and Ronaldo stepped up to score the all-important goal to eliminate the Italian giants.
Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was sent off for dissent as several Bianconeri players surrounded Oliver to protest the decision, but Ronaldo believes the match official was spot on.
"I don't understand why they are protesting. Lucas (Vazquez) was brought down from behind and if they don't give him the penalty, it's a goal," Ronaldo told beIN SPORTS.
"Pulses were racing, but I calmed myself down. I knew it would be decisive."
Vazquez, who won the controversial spot-kick, also insisted that it was the right decision by Oliver.
"It was definitely a penalty. Cristiano played me through on the penalty spot and when I turned to shoot, the centre-back (Benatia) came in from behind and brought me down. There is no discussion," he said.
Real, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and AS Roma will now eagerly await the Champions League semi-final draw, which will take place on Friday.
