Philippe Coutinho, who became FC Barcelona's most expensive player ever when he signed from Liverpool in a deal worth £142 million (R2.6 billion), could be set for a return to the Premier League, but the potential transfer is dependent on one condition.
With the Blues seemingly poised to lose the services of superstar Eden Hazard, who is reportedly set to join Real Madrid at the end of the current campaign, the Stamford Bridge outfit is said to have earmarked the former Inter Milan star as a possible replacement.
However, with Maurizio Sarri's side having a two-window transfer ban being imposed on them, which they are currently in the process of appealing, it has now been claimed that the deciding factor in the potential move will be FIFA's ruling on the ban.
Chelsea also face reported competition from the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for the 26-year-old's services.
Coutinho, who has struggled to have the desired impact at the Camp Nou since becoming the club's record signing in January 2018, has made 71 appearances for the Blaugrana since his arrival, finding the back of the net on 21 occasions and registering 11 assists.
